Lavender Essentials
Growing lavender on family land is also a great way to raise their children and build a solid business, according to Pierre and Michèle Capron.
Since 2017, the family has been growing several varieties of lavender, chamomile, mint, and vegetables on Michèle's grandparents' family land. For her, seeing a viable and sustainable agricultural business means benefiting their community and continuing the family's agricultural legacy.
Pierre and Michèle want to raise awareness among their visitors about specialty crops and educate them on sound farm management. A 140-foot Bergey wind turbine generates electricity on the farm and helps reduce their carbon footprint, and a natural spring-fed pond facilitates the irrigation of their crops.
