Au Jardin d'Edem

At the Garden of Edem

It was in 2014 that Edem Amegbo realized his greatest dream: to have his own farmland. Immersed in the world of market gardening from a young age thanks to his father, who cultivated several varieties of African vegetables, the roots of the future market gardener in him were already being forged.

Arriving in Quebec at the age of 20, Edem began growing his own vegetables in the small yard behind his house. Until one day, his garden became too small for the varieties he wanted to try! So why not think bigger, he wondered?

With the help of his studies in horticulture and the Land Bank project, an initiative of the Brome-Missisquoi MRC aimed at matching aspiring farmers with owners of agricultural land in the region, Edem now has his own African vegetable crop!

African culture in the fields of Quebec

Edem aspires to offer diverse, healthy, and environmentally friendly vegetables to African families in the region and to Quebecers wishing to discover new vegetables.

The owner of the organic farm is developing his expertise in growing African vegetables every day. Okra and chorizo are two products you're likely to taste during a visit to the Jardin d'Edem!
