Shefford Distillery
The story of the Shefford Distillery began in the spring of 2014, when Gérald Lacroix and Josée Métivier, both pre-retirees with a shared dream, decided to create an artisanal distillery. Their vision came to fruition in the fall of 2015, with the choice of a picturesque site near Mount Shefford.
In 2020, La Cabane à Boubou , run by maple syrup enthusiasts the Bourassa Brothers (Patrick, Hugo and Charles), acquired the Shefford Distillery. Their expertise in maple syrup production enriches their offering with the distillery's refined spirits.
In 2021, the Bourassa brothers renovated their space to house the Shefford Distillery. Today, the distillery's products are available alongside the maple delights of La Cabane à Boubou.
The marriage of these two companies under one roof symbolizes a successful union of passion and know-how!

The Prohibition Tour - Discover Granby and its region
Description
From barley to pint, from syrup to bottle or from hive to glass, this tour of three alcohol producers in the Granby region will lead you to discover alcohols and spirits that were once illegal, but which we love today!
Your day will begin in the heart of Waterloo, at the Robin - Bière Naturelle microbrewery, where beer is crafted like wine, with the cellar at the heart of their business model. The team will introduce you to their brewing process, emphasizing the slowness that allows for beers with an aromatic and wild profile resulting from their aging in barrels for 3 to 24 months, followed by another 6 to 8 weeks in bottles.
Next, head to Shefford to meet Charles Bourassa, owner of the Shefford Distillery, the first producer of Acerum in Quebec, a spirit made from the fermentation and distillation of maple reductose. During your visit, you'll discover how it's made, as well as how their vodka, whisky, and maple cream are made. Plus, you'll have the privilege of enjoying a gourmet aperitif filled with delicious local charcuterie and cheese. A perfect pairing with the distillery's products!
Finally, the tour will end in Sainte-Cécile-de-Milton at Miel Fontaine, where you'll discover mead. During your visit, owners Jacques and Louise will introduce you to the richness and history of this ancestral beverage made from fermented honey.
