From Farm to Table: Discover Local Gastronomy All Year Round

De la ferme à la table: Découvrez la gastronomie d'ici toute l'année

Quebec’s farm tables: A gourmet immersion in the heart of the land

Why choose local all year round?

Eating local isn't just a trend; it's a commitment to our land and those who sustain it. Choosing local products supports Quebec producers, limits our carbon footprint, and allows us to enjoy fresher, tastier food.

However, a large portion of the food consumed in Quebec travels more than 2,500 km before arriving on our plates, even though we have farms that produce locally.

Why choose local?

  • Unparalleled freshness: food harvested at its peak, full of flavor and nutrients.
  • Reduced environmental impact: less transport, less packaging, less impact on the planet.
  • Support for the local economy: each meal made with Quebec products boosts local farms and artisans.
  • Guaranteed transparency: by consuming locally, you know where your food comes from and how it was produced.

To fully experience this field-to-plate experience, farmhouse restaurants are a must-have option! These restaurants located on farms favor short supply chains, a method of sourcing food whereby food is grown, raised, and processed directly on-site or by local producers, without any intermediaries.
