Peasant life - harvesting and picking
Subscribe to the newsletter to not miss anything.
Getting your hands dirty and immersed in the daily life of a farmer is an experience you've been dreaming of. Les Argousiers Ste-Christine is giving you the chance to make it happen!
This is your unique opportunity to spend a full morning with a farmer from a small farm, learning more about the farm's various livestock (chicken, rabbit, beekeeping) and the various fruit crops (sea buckthorn, elderberries, asparagus), accompanied by the owner of Argousiers Ste-Christine, Paule Ratté.
Put on your gardening gloves, because you'll be helping to maintain the orchards, harvesting the crops, and picking your toppings for your pancake meal that will be served to round off your day.
Here's a look at some of the day's activities:
- Opening the chicken coop, feeding and watering the hens, lifting the eggs, touring the hutches and preparing the eggs for sale
- Field tour: inspection of plants, current horticultural tasks (pruning, fertilization, weeding, harvesting), participation in apiary activities and harvesting your pancake fillings
- A delicious meal prepared by Paule: a Breton buckwheat crepe filled with products that you have carefully selected in the field!
You will even have the chance to leave with a dozen eggs from hens fed on sea buckthorn berries!
